The cyclic vacuum induction casting furnace (water-cooled disc type) is primarily used for rare earth permanent magnet alloys and solid hydrogen storage alloys. Under vacuum or inert gas, it uses induction heating to melt iron- or nickel-based alloys, pours them onto chill rolls via a constant-current casting tilting system, and then rapidly solidifies them into thin sheets. Finally, the alloy sheets are secondary cooled and stirred on water-cooled discs.
Applications: Rare earth permanent magnets, nickel-metal hydride batteries
